FAQs

Is school open when a typhoon or rainstorm warning is hoisted?

Busy Bees Pre-School will remain open during Typhoon Signal 3 or red rain warnings unless otherwise notified.

Classes will be cancelled during Typhoon Signal 8 or higher and black rain warnings.

Please check the website and recorded message on our office line in inclement weather on 5991-2899. We are alerted to voicemail messages even out of office hours, so please leave a message or email us for any urgent matters.

How does the application process work?

First, complete an online Busy Bees Pre-School application form.

Once we have received your form we will acknowledge receipt via email, if you have not received a receipt of application email within 7 working days, please email us to confirm receipt.

Is there an application fee?

No. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer your child a place in our school and think that it is unfair to charge for applications at this time.

What are the class sizes?

Miss Erin founded Busy Bees Pre-School because she did not like the growing class sizes in Pre-Schools around Hong Kong. Our student to teacher ratio is approximately 5:1 and will always remain low.

Wee Bees = 1 Lead teacher and 1 assistant.

Honey Bees = 1 Lead Native English Kindergarten Teacher, 1 Sports Coach and 1 Native Mandarin Teacher

Mandarin Bees = 1 Native Mandarin Teacher

What is the benefit of having a Pre-School in a club?

Many of you will have seen schools in Hong Kong and know that they have limited facilities.

At Busy Bees Pre-School we have access to wonderful areas of the clubs we occupy including:

– Outdoor play areas
– Indoor play areas
– A library
– Sporting facilities and other areas of the club.

Do I have to be a member of one of the clubs for my child to attend?

No, non-members are welcome, however Club members will receive priority places.

As a non-member, club privileges only extend to the Busy Bees student during classtime and under supervision of the teacher.

What are the school fees?

You will be billed according to the days your child is enrolled:

  • Wee Bees $330/session. There is a minimum enrolment of 2 days per week.

  • Honey Bees $475/3 hour session and $445/session for Honey Bees starters (new students attending for 2 hours instead of the full 3 hours during a short settling in period). There is a minimum enrolment of 3 days per week for Honey Bees.

  • Prep Bees/Extended Day $265/2 hour session. (Currently enrolled Honey Bees)

  • Primary Prep Bees/Extended Day $315/2 hour session.
